Warranty

Assembly and warranty of a permanent scaffolding anchor system. Notes on our own behalf.

In general, anyone is able to install the isorocket® permanent scaffolding anchor system as long as they follow the installation instructions and use the tools provided correctly. In practice, however, there are always discussions about the installation of corresponding permanent anchor systems and, above all, who has to install them (and with what consequences). Both the scaffolder and the façade constructor are responsible for the execution.

Scaffolder or façade builder?

In view of the fact that the façade builder does not want to take responsibility for the stability of scaffolding that he has not erected himself, the assembly service is basically ruled out. We are therefore of the opinion that such systems are generally to be assembled by the scaffolder and therefore also belong in the tender for the scaffolding work.

Of course, we also know that some scaffolding companies see this differently, but this is mainly due to the warranty. Every qualified scaffolder is certainly willing and able to provide the appropriate warranty for their scaffolding. However, this warranty usually extends over the construction period and is no longer available once the scaffolding has been dismantled. For this reason, there is no reason for the scaffolding erector to issue warranties beyond this period or even warranty guarantees for more than 5 years.

Under these circumstances, it is perhaps even understandable and comprehensible that the scaffolder does not want to run the “risk” of having to cover all or part of his work with a warranty bond in the future because of a few permanent scaffolding anchors installed. On the other hand, the façade builder, who is familiar with warranty bonds from his “day-to-day business”, will not want to assume responsibility for anchoring a “third-party scaffold” during its service life.

Our recommendation for architects/planners

If all sides want to work together constructively and not hinder each other, and if you as the architect/planner also want to meet the requirements of DIN 4426 for the future, you should commission the scaffolder to assemble the anchor elements, which he must then of course process professionally, but which will certainly also be recognizable during the construction phase. Do not exempt the scaffolder from responsibility, but do exempt him from possible warranty guarantees, and you will see that many concerns will disappear into thin air.

If in doubt, simply use our installation service.
